Hi, I’m Shawna, a Bay Area portrait, family, and event photographer with a lifelong connection to photography. Photography runs in my family, and I studied the craft at Portland State University before making it my full-time work.

I also spent many years working closely with children and families, including as the director of a Montessori school in Berkeley. That experience still guides how I work today: calm, intuitive, and attentive to creating an atmosphere where people feel comfortable and unguarded.

I pay close attention to pacing, environment, and connection so you don’t have to think about how you look or what to do. My sessions are thoughtfully paced and warmly guided so you can relax into the experience while I take care of the rest.

Outside of photography, I’m inspired by music, plants, vintage finds, costumes, cooking, and laughing with friends.

My goal is to create images that feel personal, timeless, and true to you and an experience that feels easy and fun.
